In their long decade of dispair, if there's one thing the Buffalo Bills have been able to do well, it has been their ability to pick up quality late-round or undrafted free agents. Like starters: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Fred Jackson, Stevie Johnson, David Nelson, and Donald Jones - George Wilson also fits in this category, going undrafted in 2004.

George Wilson actually had never played an organized football game at the safety position until the Bills decided to convert him to the position in 2007. He had been a star wide receiver at Arkansas for 4 years, but was willing to do whatever it took to remain in the league. In his first start as a pro, Wilson intercepted Tony Romo on Monday Night Football in the 2007 season.

With the departure of Donte Whitner in free agency, Wilson was named the starting strong safety. Fans and management were in agreement that it was time for WIlson to get a chance at starting - and he started brilliantly. Wilson showed off his former receiving skills recording 4 interceptions in a 5 game span. Unfortunately, like many of the Bills key contributors, Wilson fell victim to injury, missing four games. He finished the season with a respectable 106 tackles.

In his first year starting, Wilson showed promise, and easily outperformed former incumbent Donte Whitner. His coverage ability, consistent tackling, and outstanding support in the rush defence was something the Bills hadn't seen from the strong safety position in years. 2012 will be a telling season for Wilson, and it will be exciting to watch him progress.
