When former Bills ILB, Paul Posluszny, signed a 6-year $42 million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, he left the Bills needing to fill a glaring hole. The Bills responded by signing former Green Bay Packers standout, Nick Barnett, to a much cheaper 3-year $12 million contract. To put it mildly - Barnett was a beast in 2011. One of the best signings the Bills have made since I was born, Barnett proved to be a much better player than Posluszny ever was. His bawl-hawking skills, and speed at the linebacker position was apparent by Week 1.

Barnett was a Pro Bowl selection in 2007, and is 2nd all-time in tackles in Green Bay Packers history. He finished the 2011 season as the Bills leading tackler, massing 130 tackles, as well as an interception and 3 forced fumbles. Barnett is arguably the best player on the Bills defense, and leads by example out on the field. After health problems throughout 2008-2009, Barnett returned to full form last season, and is not looking back. He's an animal out on the field, and reminds me a lot of Troy Polamalu - 2012 will be a huge season for Barnett, and he's coming out looking for blood.
