CB - Drayton Florence (#29)
Date of Birth: December 19, 1980
Weight: 195 lbs
Height: 6 ft 0 in
Place of Birth: Waycross, Georgia
College: Tuskegee

Florence played his college ball at the Division II Level at Tuskegee, earning First Team All-American honors. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the 2nd round of the 2003 NFL Draft, making him the highest draft pick to ever come out of the University of Tuskegee.

Florence became a legitimate starting cornerback for the Chargers, and earned himself a 6 year $36 million deal, signing as a free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Florence didn't live up to his potential however, and Jacksonville released him after just one season. General Manager Buddy Nix, from the San Diego Chargers, was hired by the Bills at around this time and was well-aware of the type of play Florence could bring. Nix signed Florence in 2009, and rewarded him with a 3 year $15 million extension in 2011.

In 2011, Florence was the Bills most consistent and reliable cornerback, starting all 16 games. He is an athletic cornerback, running a sub-4.40 time in the 40 yard dash. He has shown the ability to make plays, including his interception on Tom Brady in Week 3, as the Bills shocked the Patriots. Florence's reliable play will have to continue to ensure defensive success for the Bills in 2012. The Bills are loaded with underachieving cornerbacks, and if Flroence can continue his ability to limit the big play like he did in 2011, he will convince the Bills that they have a worthy #1 cornerback.
